Vidyasagar Primary Teachers Training Institute provides various facilities for students and undertakes a range of programs focused on skill enhancement and holistic development, such as career and personal counseling, academic and technical skill enhancement, art and craft activities, and organizational training.

Available student support infrastructure includes vehicle parking, separate common rooms for boys and girls, and other amenities. The institute maintains a transparent mechanism for timely redressal of grievances, including cases related to sexual harassment and ragging. Additional support is provided to needy students through measures such as guidance from the placement convener, concessions in tuition or hostel fees, and other assistance. The institute sees more than 150 graduates per year, and many students have successfully qualified for State/National level examinations such as NET, GATE, CTET, and other competitive exams, supported by certificates and mark sheets.

The institute has an active student council, where every student is a member. Their representatives organize inter-house activities including drama, group dance, rangoli, elocution, cricket, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Positions within the council include House Prefect, Girls Representative, Science Secretary, Culture Secretary, and Games Secretary, elected through inter-house elections.

Students are also represented on statutory bodies such as the Women’s Cell, Committee Against Sexual Harassment, Anti-Ragging Committee, Grievances Committee, Placement Cell, and Mess Committee. The institute has a functional Alumni Association/Chapter that contributes significantly to student development, motivates students, and recognizes and nurtures their special talents, serving as an effective support system for the institute.
